Does Kiln-Dried Lumber Warp?

However, kiln-dried lumber can still warp if it is exposed to excessive moisture, direct sunlight, or improper storage after installation. While kiln drying significantly reduces movement, it cannot eliminate it entirely because wood remains a natural product.

Choosing kiln-dried lumber, storing materials properly, and installing lumber soon after delivery all help reduce the likelihood of movement. Selecting the right species and grade for the application can also improve long-term performance.
