FX LumberGuard® XT

Fire Treated For All Lumber Items and Beyond

FX LumberGuard® XT

As the industry innovator in fire retardant technology, our FX LumberGuard XT offers a dual-treatment system that was designed to add both long term rot protection combined with Class-A Fire protection for use in decking applications and much more.

Guided by precise quality-control measures, the non-invasive factory-application process harnesses new age manufacturing technology combined with prescriptive chemical formulations that, in addition to adding fire protection, FX LumberGuard protects critical engineering and strength values of these highly-specified products.

Moreover, proprietary treatment process and chemical formulations do not require pressure impregnation or kiln-drying after treatment (KDAT), processes synonymous with sub-standard materials in appearance, strength and durability.

What are the 3 methods of Treating?

  • Coated
  • Penetrant
  • Impregnated

What are the advantages of a Penetrant treatment?

  • Strength value of the underlying lumber remains intact
  • Additional species can be treated that can’t be with other types of treatment
  • The process is quicker resulting in quicker available & delivery times

What is the difference between a Penetrant treatment and a coated treatment?

Impregnated treatment will cause strength loss, you can not overcoat impregnated material. Some construction adhesives won’t work.

What species can FX Lumberguard XT be treated with?

Most all species of sawn lumber and sheathing can be treated (The most common include Doug-Fir, Hem-Fir, Spruce-Pine-Fir (“SPF”) and Southern Yellow Pine)

How Long can treated material remain outside on the jobsite?

FX Lumber Guard XT is formulated for exterior applications, it’s a permanent application
