Outside Sales, Engineered Lumber Products
Sherwood Lumber Corporation - a national wholesale lumber distributor with multiple locations throughout the country - has an opportunity for the right individual to become a part of our sales team as an Engineered Lumber Products Outside Sales Associate. The main objective for this position is to sell Engineered Lumber Products, in the field, while promoting Sherwood Lumber’s overall business to new and existing customers in New Jersey and Eastern Pennsylvania. Applicants must have extensive knowledge of residential and light commercial wood frame construction including load development, blueprint interpretation and structural expertise.
ACTIVITIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Develop customer relationships through consistent visits, occasional entertainment and distribution of marketing or promotional items
- Be a team player, supportive and respective of co-workers
- Prepare, send and follow up on offers daily
- Engage in quotation and price negotiation for transactional orders in order to satisfy customer needs while maximizing profit
- Field customer support calls, following up on matters such as design/construction issues, deliveries, claims, returns and other customer requests
- Maintain and review sales and profit goals on a regular basis
- Continually build upon customer databases
- Maintain a self discipline to enhance skills and education through reading, listening to audio and attending programs
- Attend outings, shows and conventions as directed by management
- Submit accurate and timely expense reports to management for company approved business expenses
- Submit customer sponsorship requests to management in a timely manner
- Provide management with suggestions that will improve our company
- Attend various company meetings and events
- Prepare and send daily activity reports to sales manager
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Extensive knowledge of residential and light commercial wood frame construction including load development, blueprint interpretation and structural expertise a must
- Strong Communication skills (written and verbal)
- Excellent organizational skills with strong attention to detail
- Commitment to customer service

Sales Associate
This is an entry-level inside sales job that can lead to high-level management positions. You will help prospect new accounts, manage sales and marketing research projects, and present new products to existing accounts. This is a company where employees can grow while gaining great world experience. If you have a proven track record in sales, you will ramp up very quickly. If you are new to sales, but have the personality and energy to drive results as you learn marketing and prospecting, we will mentor you.
REQUIREMENTS:
- The ideal candidate will have 0 -2 years of experience in sales
- The candidate must possess excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, and a commitment to customer service
- The candidate must demonstrate the potential and drive to grow quickly within the organization
- Also, must have the ability to meet deadlines, work independently as well as part of a team, and be a self-starter with strong problem solving skills
- Must be available to work at the Islandia, NY location or the Chicago, IL location

Experienced Lumber Trader
We are seeking experienced US Lumber and panel traders with a solid customer base and substantial experience in Back to Back (B2B) sales and cold calling.
REQUIREMENTS:
- 5-7 years plus experience in selling lumber and panel products is required, any additional experience in specialty products is a plus
- Must have excellent customer service and be able to demonstrate a strong persistent approach to sales. Based in our Lake Oswego, OR office
